Port Angeles Kayak and Film Festival

On April 12- 13th, you are invited to join us for the Port Angeles Kayak and Film Festival.  You can participate in over 20 kayak and SUP (stand up paddleboard) classes, paddle a variety of kayaks at the demo beach, be inspired at the kayak film festival,  enjoy live music and listen to Chris Duff share his past, present and future expeditions. Current Kayak and Bike Trips

Yes, we are running kayak and bike trips this time of year.  Kayaking Lake Crescent and Freshwater Bay can be absolutely fantastic this time of year.  Yes, it is a bit colder, but we include the gear to keep you warm.  Adventure Route mountain biking has been spectacular with all the Fall colors.  All Olympic National Park and vicinity trips are scheduled by reservation, so be sure to give us a call. 

3 Month Rental Program

Now is the season to take advantage of Adventures Through Kayaking's 3 month rental program.  Pick out a mountain bike, kayak or stand up paddleboard, keep it for three months and if you love the sport you can apply the rental fee towards the purchase of your very own brand new piece of equipment.  Normally a daily rental is $57 for kayaks, bikes and sups; with the three month rental program, the rate is only $3.33 per day.  This is a great way to see if you are going to love the sport before making a purchase.  It's great for seasonal residents and those that simply have more time to play during the Fall and Winter months.  Give us a call, Adventures Through Kayaking has the best kayaks, bikes and sup's to make your outdoor experience great!

Keep on Adventuring- New adventure options near Port Angeles and Olympic National Park

Great things are happening here on the Olympic Peninsula from the endless outdoor treasures- rivers, lakes, mountains, glaciers, beaches to the annual Juan de Fuca music festival. We are so fortunate to live here and share this amazing area with people visiting from all parts of the world!

To get out there and soak up the forests, beaches, trails, and lakes with all the best equipment, we are now offering rental punchcards for kayaks, bikes, and stand up paddle (SUP) boards, which means your tenth rental is always free. Yes, it's OK to go together on a punchcard with your friends- and rental punchcards can be mixed and matched with all three types of equipment- kayaks, bikes, and SUP's. You might ask, where would I kayak and/or SUP? Well, there are a number of great places, one of my favorites is the glacially carved Lake Crescent in Olympic National Park where you'll glide over the deepest blue water in the midst of Mt. Storm King and Pyramid Mtn staring down at you. Other great kayak/SUP destinations are Freshwater Bay and Lake Aldwell, both situated near Port Angeles and Olympic National Park.

And, then you might ask, "whereabouts is the best place to mountain bike?" Again, there are some sweet options very close, including our newest and most fantastic trail, the Adventure Route portion of the Olympic Discovery Trail. A number of great options are available on this trail depending on how far you would like to ride and what type of experience is suitable for your group. When you pick up your rental bikes (car racks available,) we will get you a free map and go over some great options including two loop rides. Another trail within only a few minutes of Adventures Through Kayaking is the Spruce Railroad Trail that travels along the northern shores of Lake Crescent in Olympic National Park.

Learn how to Stand Up Paddleboard, SUP is the fastest growing, newest watersport sweeping the country; it all started in Hawaii many years ago and now the mainland is catching onto the fun. Adventuring 7 Days a Week!

So you've been wondering what 2010 trips are available and when?? Well, we are now in full swing with all kayaking and mountain biking trips going out everyday of the week. For those of you have joined us in the past you know that we keep the group sizes small and the trips do fill up, that way you get maximum fun! Don't worry if you have a large group, give us a call and we will set up a private trip to meet the goals of your party. Last year our 3 most popular trips were the new full day NW Adventure, the half day kayaking to Freshwater Bay, and half day mountain biking on the Adventure Route.

What's new this year, you ask? With the positive response of folks on the Adventure Route biking trip having a super time, we asked them how we could improve on this trip. The main response was- "I'd like to go biking for the entire day." So there you have it, we now offer a full 20 mile day of riding the rolling hills, sweeps, banks, and turns of the Adventure Route.

Keep in mind that paddlers and pedalers alike can rent kayaks, bikes and even stand up paddle boards for exploring the vastness of Olympic National Park and the Olympic Peninsula. So what are you waiting for, let's go adventuring!
